So this is the LG’s new line up of xboom speakers, first theres the brand new LG Xboom Stage 301 which is a portable and versatile box speaker, there’s the LG xboom Bounce which is a very unique looking mid sized speaker, then there’s the LG xboom Grab which is very versatile and portable, and there’s also the LG xboom buds. Now all of these speakers are using lots of AI to make sure that they are giving you the best sound, they have all been designed in collaboration with Will I Am and they are all using aura cast so you can pair them all up and get them all to power your next party. So today lets checkout what this new xboom line up of speaker from LG is all about.

So first off theres the LG xboom Grab which is a small, portable and durable Bluetooth speaker which is great to take on the go with you. Now the LG xboom Grab has this unique built in carrying strap which makes it super easy to attach this speaker to either your backpack, bike handle bars or railing. The LG xboom Grab also has a mostly fabric wrapped body so its going to be able to stand up to constant abuse from bumps and scrapes… and this speaker has both an IP67 rating and a Military standard rating of 810H which means this speaker is dust proof, water proof, and its shock proof as well. So the LG xboom Grab can withstand a lot of abuse, and thanks to its small design and built in carrying strap, its great to just grab and Go.
But then theres also the LG xboom Bounce which is a little larger than the LG xboom Grab, however this speaker is also a great option to take on the go with you cause it also has a built in carrying strap, but also this speaker is equally as durable as the LG xboom Grab because it also has a mostly fabric wrapped body and it also has the same IP67 rating and the same Military standard of 810H so this speaker is also dirt proof, water proof and shock proof. However the main reason why this speaker is called the LG xboom Bounce is cause of the dual upward firing passive radiators which not only bounce to the beat of your music, but they also produce your bass.
And both the Bounce and Grab have built in light features which will go with your music, and built in light features for speakers of these sizes are pretty rare these days. And through LG’s app you can go in and change from a few different lighting modes, and all of these speakers are also using AI so that they can calibrate their sound to best tailor to the shape of your room and music.
And both the grab and bounce have built in batteries. Now the LG xboom Grab has an advertised battery life of 20 hours, which is actually very Impressive for a speaker of this size and the LG xboom Bounce has an advertised battery life of 30 hours, which is above average for a speaker of this size as well.
Now when it comes to sound, the LG xboom Grab has a frontward firing track woofer and a frontward firing 16 millimeter tweeter and dual passive radiators that shoot out the sides. And the fact that the Grab has a woofer and tweeter setup is a big deal cause this set up is going to help with instrument separation, like this.

So like you may have just seen, the woofer handles the mids and the tweeter handles the highs, and this is going to help your speaker sound more open and its going to give it better instrument separation. And through LG’s app, you can also go in an either select from a few pre made EQ’s or you can make your own. But now we’re going to jump into another quick soundtest. But now we’re going to jump into another quick sound test. This speaker is playing at 75% volume and its using its clear voice EQ after being calibrated for this room.

So like you may have just heard, the LG xboom Grab is a well balanced speaker and thanks to the woofer and tweeter set up, it has really good instrument separation. But this is a mono speaker. If you want something with stereo sound, then you’ll want to look at the LG xboom Bounce cause this speaker has a frontward firing track woofer just like the grab, but it also has dual frontward firing 20 millimeter tweeters and those dual passive radiators that shoot upwards and its give this speaker that unique look. And just like the Grab, the LG xboom Bounce uses AI to calibrate its sound and you can adjust its eq to your liking through LG’s app. But now we’re going to jump into anther quick sound demo and this speaker is also going to be playing at 75% volume and its using its clear voice EQ as well.

So like you may have just heard, the LG xboom Bounce also sounds very balanced and open thanks to its dual tweeter and woofer set up. The LG xboom Bounce also gets impressively loud for its size and it also puts out an immersive amount of bass. But nonetheless both of these speakers are great options if you’re looking for something durable and portable, they both have above average battery lives and they both have pretty good looking light features.
Next up theres the LG xboom Stage 301, now this is a very portable and very versatile box speaker. Design wise this speaker has a built in light feature, theres a light bar on the top and bottom and you have a few different lighting modes to choose from. The LG xboom stage 301 also has a built in carrying handle so its very easy to take on the go with you and its water resistant. So if you leave it out doors over night, its going to be perfectly fine.
The LG xboom Stage 301 also has a top hat mount on the bottom so if you want to place this speaker on a stand and elevate it, and thanks to the wedge design of the Stage 301, you can either stand it up straight up if you have it on a table or you can lean it back, which is going to help you cover a larger area which is great if you plan on performing with this speaker.
Now the LG xboom Stage 301 also has a built in battery with an advertised battery life of 12 hours… but the really cool thing here is, you can easily remove this battery, so you can either get multiple batteries and keep the party going, or if you every get to a point where your battery can no longer hold a charge, instead of having to buy a new speaker, you just need to get a new battery. Which is great especially cause this helps extend the life of your investment and its a little more eco friendly as well.
And when it comes to ports, this speaker has a quarter inch input so you can either plug in a microphone for karaoke or you can also plug in a guitar. And you can also adjust the sound of your mic directly from the speaker it self, or you can also open LG’s app for extra effects. Theres also a standard audio jack so you can use a wired connection and there’s also a USB A port if you want.
But finally lets talk about sound, regarding speaker set up the Stage 301 has a frontward firing 6 and a half inch woofer, with exhaust ports that shoot out the front and it has dual frontward firing 2 and half inch mid range drives which is going to give you stereo sound. Now from LG’s app you can customize your EQ, and with the use of AI, this speaker can calibrate itself depending on the shape of your room and your music to always give you the best sound. But new we’re going to jump into the sound test. This speaker is playing at 75% volume with its clear voice eq and we’re going to use it with its Soundboost feature set to off, deep and punch.
Stage 301 Sound test
So like you may have just heard, this speaker sounds balanced, but more importantly with Sound boost turned on you’re going to get more bass. But you can choose from what time of bass you want. You can get a more physical bass so that you can feel it in your body or you can can a more balanced bass so that you get more of a resonance. So overall the LG xboom Stage 301 is a very versatile speaker thats going to be great for at home use or its also great to use with friends and take it on the go with you.
And something that all three of these speakers have is aura cast. So if you have two of the same speakers than you can wirelessly pair them up and get them to play in left and right stereo mode, or if you want you can get all three of these speakers to play in sync and the light features are going to match up as well. So this way you’ll be able to cover a larger area with music, or you can have music playing in different rooms in your house.
But finally we have the LG xboom Buds and these have a very minimal design to them. But thanks to their ear hooks they still manage to provide solid lock down, they have a vey balanced sound signature, just like these speakers, and their active noise cancelation does a really good job of blocking out low frequency sounds like road noise. Plus these earbuds have an advertised combined battery life of 30 hours which is fairly impressive for this super small form factor.
But with all of that being said, the LG xboom Stage 301 is a very versatile box speaker, its small and portable, but it still get very loud for a crowd, plus you can use it with a mic for karaoke and I like that it has a removable battery. And both the LG xboom Bounce and LG Xboom grab are great portable options that are super durable, they both have above average battery lives and they both have built in light features if you want. And finally there are the LG xboom Buds which give you a very sleek and minimal look if you’re looking for a pair of earbuds.
