Soundcore Liberty 4 NC Review - $100 Earbuds Packed With All Of The Features

So these are the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC… these are the newest earbuds from Soundcore and these can reduce up to 98.5% of noise, thanks to their new Adaptive ANC 2.0 system, their battery life is insane coming in at a combined battery life of 50 hours, I think they have a really cool case, it has wireless charging, they have studio sound and these have an entry level price.

So lets see what the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC’s are all about… but I think these are a solid pickup if you’re looking for earbuds that aren’t going to hurt the bank. But more importantly I do want to thank Soundcore for sponsoring this video. The Liberty 4 NC’s have a retail price of $99.99 and if you want to pick these earbuds up, they’ll be linked down below… and again I would like to thank Soundcore for sponsoring this video.

Now first lets talk about the Active noise cancellation on these earbuds. Now the Liberty 4 NC’s block out an impressive amount of noise… soundcore says upto 98.5%… the only thing that I will point out is that if you’re sensitive to cabin pressure like I am, you may feel the affects of this active noise cancelation, especially when its working hard. Now with this active noise cancellation, you can either have it set to Adaptive… and the ANC on these earbuds will automatically adjust it self depending on your surroundings and the shape of your ear canals, thanks to the new Adaptive ANC 2.0 system…

Now the Active Noise Cancelation in these earbuds system is made up of a High Performance in-ear sound sensor which can detect a much wider range of sounds which helps the ANC algorithm in these earbuds recognize and counter a wider range of noise pollution. The custom drivers also have very little distortion to them, which allows them to create more opposite sound waves, thus helping you block out more noise. And these earbuds also have a noise isolation chamber which also helps with blocking out noise. And with the new Adaptive ANC 2.0 System in these earbuds…. The Active noise cancellation on these earbuds creates a new sound filter curve every time you put these earbuds on which is specific to both your environment and even the shape of your ear canal.

Or you can also set the ANC on these earbuds into their manual mode, and you can manually select how much noise you want to block out. Cause sometimes blocking out too much noise can be a problem as well.

But like I have mentioned in the past, I only use the active noise cancelation on my earbuds when I have to. And what’s really important to me is the quality of their ambient mode. Now these earbuds have a decent sounding ambient mode… peronsally I wish it was a little louder, but it definitely gets the job done. But more importantly there’s no constant hissing in the background and this microphone array does a really good job of blocking out wind noise when walking out doors. And through soundcore’s app, you can also make it so that these earbuds will focus on people’s voices.

But now let talk about sound. Now the Liberty 4 NC’s have 11 millimeter drivers that provide studio sound quality…and for the best sound quality you want to use LDAC cause you’re going to get better definition in your music, and I just want to quickly point out that these earbuds get super loud. Personally, I can’t use these earbuds past 80% volume… so I guess this is a good thing for the people out there that like very loud earbuds. Now these earbuds have good instrument separation and they have a surprising amount of bass to them. But perosnally I do feel that their treble is a little too high with their stock Soundcore EQ. But thankfully you can go in and adjust their EQ to your liking. You can either choose from soundcore’s pre made EQ’s or you can make your own. But soundcore also has their HearID sound system where they can make you a customized EQ for you after you go through their hearing test. Now this is always an option… but personally I prefer to make my own EQ. And finally there’s the 3D Surround sound feature on these earbuds. Now personally I enjoyed using this feature when im watching videos or listening to podcasts with these earbuds… but I wouldn’t recommend that you use this feature when you’re listening to music with them cause they put a big emphasis on the treble. But overall, the Liberty 4 NC’s sound good for a pair of entry level earbuds… they have a lot of bass, vocals are very easy to hear, and they get super loud.

Now when it comes to controlling your media with these earbuds, these earbuds are using tap based touchpads, and these touchpads are easy enough to use. And through Soundcore’s app, you can customize these buttons to your liking.

But also, these earbuds have proximity sensors, so they will automatically play and pause your music when you take them out of your ears or put them back in. And again it is impressive that a pair of earbuds with this price point has proximity sensors cause a lot of entry level ANC earbuds don’t, which I feel is very inconvenient.

But another thing that is super convenient about the Liberty 4 NC’s is their battery life… these earbuds have a very good case size to battery life ratio. Cause if you were to use these earbuds with their active noise cancelation turned off, they are going to have a combined battery life of 50 hours. The earbuds themselves can go for 10 hours and the case can supply 4 additional charges.

But if you were to use these earbuds with their active noise cancellation turned on, they’re going to have an advertised combined battery life of 40 hours. The earbuds themselves can go for 8 hours and the case can supply those additional 4 charges. And when it comes to fast charging, if you were to drop your earbuds in their case, a 10 minute charge is going to get you 4 hours of playback time.

But in general, both the earbuds themselves and the case have above average battery lives to them. And these are definitely a great option for any retail worker or driver that may need something with a lot of stamina to them.

But next up lets talk about the case… cause honestly I just love playing around with this case. Now this case has a spring loaded lid to it, and when you press the button, the lid just springs open. Now there are plenty of cases out there that have a spring loaded lid… but the liberty 4 NC’s just got it super right. It works 99% of the time… which isn’t the case with a lot of other cases out there. But also, the magnets in this case are super strong, so putting your earbuds away is super easy and you don’t have to worry about your earbuds falling out. So overall, just taking your earbuds out and putting them back in is a lot fun. But when it comes to the other characteristics about this case… the case it self has a bit of a slate finish to it, making it easy to handle this case… Now size wise this case is decently sized and it isn’t super noticeable when its in your pocket. And when it comes to charging this case, it charges via a USB C port, as it should… but it also has wireless charging… which is still fairly rare for earbuds in this price range.

Next up there’s fit. Now the liberty 4 NC’s are a pair of shallow fitting in ear earbuds… as in they don’t go in super deep into your ear canal. Now the good thing about shallow fitting in ear earbuds like these is that they are more comfortable and natural feeling cause they don’t feel as intrusive. But with shallow fitting in ear earbuds, they can be a little more likely to wiggle out while you’re walking. Nonetheless, the Liberty 4 NC are a pair of very comfortable earbuds to wear and they are great for casual use, and they also come with a few different size silicon ear tips to choose from.

Now when it comes to connectivity, each earbud establishes a connection with your phone. So if you just want to use one earbud at a time, you can use either one, it doesn’t matter and this is the connection set up that we expect to see from all of our earbuds nowadays,

But the really cool thing about these earbuds is that they can simulatainously be connected to and two devices at the same time, regardless of eco system. So you can quickly hot swap from lets say your iPhone to your android device… and this is very useful especially if you’re a power user with devices from different eco systems…

And when it comes to overall performance, these earbuds have zero latency across the board when watching movies or videos on your phone whether youre and iPhone or an android user… and when it comes to audio codecs, these earbuds have support for SBC, AAC, and LDAC which is Sony’s on high res audio codec. And again it is impressive that a pair of earbuds with this price point has LDAC.

Now what LDAC is is that you’re going to get better detail in your music cause what LDAC does is that it transfers more data more quickly. However, if you want to use LDAC you do have to be an android user cause iPhones top out at AAC… and if you do decide to use LDAC, than that is going to take an additional toll on the battery life.

But finally here’s the microphone test, now even though this microphone can sound a little fuzzy at times, overall this is a good sounding microphone that does a good job of focusing on your voice.

But also, this microphone does an impressive job of dealing with noise pollution. Cause right now this microphone is doing an impressive job of blocking out this road noise. Cause if we were to switch over to my lapel microphone, you’re going to clearly hear all of this road noise… but if we switch back over to the liberty 4 NC’s… this road noise is severely reduced and my voice sounds pretty good.

And when it comes to blocking out chatter, its the same thing. This microphone does a decent job of blocking out this chatter and my voice still sounds good. So with the Liberty 4 NC’s I feel that they have a decent sounding microphone for phone calls and they also do a good job of dealing with noise pollution.

So with all of that being said, the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC’s are a pair of entry level ANC earbuds that are packed with features. The ANC on these earbuds block out a lot noise, their ambient mode sounds good, they also have a decent sounding microphone for phone calls, they can be simultaneously connected to two devices at the same time, and they also have a very impressive battery life and their case has wireless charging. Overall, these are a solid pickup. But again, I do want to thank Soundcore for sponsoring this video.
