So over the last few months, JBL has been very busy updating a lot of their speakers… but most recently they put out the JBL Grip which is a completely new line of speakers for them… but its actually very similar to the JBL Flip 5. But still I think the JBL Grip is very weird in JBL’s current speaker line up. Nonetheless today we’re going to compare the JBL Grip to both the JBL Flip 7 and JBL Charge 6 and lets see which one is right for you.
So the soundcore boom 3i is a super durable bluetooth speaker that gives you a very big bang for your buck. Its soundcore’s first small sized speaker that has a woofer and tweeter set up, it has a built in light feature, its super durable, and it doesn’t just float in water… it floats right side up so you can still hear your music. Personally, I was very disappointed with the Bose Soundlink Flex 2 cause this speaker is very hard to justify when compared to its direct competitors, the JBL Flip 7 and the Sony ULT field 1… this speaker just lacks the proper speaker setup you’d expect in a premium speaker these days. But now we have the Bose Soundlink Plus, and im actually impressed by this speaker… but its still hard to justify when compared to its direct competitors. But today we’re going to compare the Mid Sized Bose Soundlink Plus with the small sized JBL Flip 7 and Sony ULT Field 1 so that you can see how much bose needs to improve.
So if you’re looking for a small portable Bluetooth speaker for summer 2025, you actually have a lot of new options to choose from, theres the brand new JBL Flip 7 which just released in the spring, there’s the Bose soundlink flex 2 which came out in the winter, and we have the Beats Pill and the Sony ULT Field 1. So today we’re going to compare all four of these speakers and we’re going to see which one is right for you.
So both the JBL Charge 6 and JBL Flip 7 have some notable performance improvements over their predecessors. And if you’re trying to choose between the JBL Charge 6 and JBL Flip 7, then its honestly going to come down to portability, battery life and sound performance. But then theres also the JBL Pulse 5, which is a very impressive looking speaker thanks to its light feature. But sound quality wise, it doesn’t compare to these other two speakers. The Sony ULT Field 1 has been my favorite small sized speaker to use and to recommend for the last year just cause it sounds so full. But now we have the JBL Flip 7 which does have some sound improvements over the JBL Flip 6.
