Soundcore Space One Review - Packed With A Lot Of Features

So these are the Soundcore Space One’s and these are Soundcore’s new Entry Level ANC Headphones… And I find it a little hard to believe that these are entry level ANC headphones… cause the Active Noise Cancelation on these headphones is really good… and these things are packed with features. But nonetheless, today we’re going to see what the Soundcore Space One are all about.

But first I do want to thank Soundcore for Sponsoring this video… now when it comes to price, the Space one have a retail price of $100… and with the active noise cancelation performance on these headphones… plus all of their features… that is very impressive. Nonetheless if you want to pick these headphones up they’ll be linked down below. But again I do want to thank soundcore for sponsoring this video.

Now first, lets talk about the active noise cancellation on these headphones, because for entry level headphones, the ANC on the Space one is very impressive. The Active noise cancelation on these headphones is up there with some premium ANC headphones… and it actually puts the ANC on some mid teir ANC headphones to shame. But so that you can see for yourself, we’re going to jump into the ANC Test.

So like you may have just seen, the Active Noise cancelation on the Space One does a really good job of blocking out constant lower frequency sounds like road noise… and they also do a good job of reducing higher frequency sounds like chatter. The Active Noise cancellation on the Space one is going to have no problem redoing road noise on your bus ride home… and its also going to do a good job of blocking out chatter if you’re in a noisy cafeteria.

But with the active noise cancelation on the space one… you can either have it set to adaptive, so this way their ANC will automatically calibrate itself depending on your surroundings… or you can also manually choose how much noise you want to block out. And obviously, in this ANC test, the headphones were set to their strongest ANC setting. But if you dont want to block out as much noise… you can always reduce it.

But then there’s the ambient mode on these headphones… now the ambient mode on the Space One sounds decent and like with more premium ANC headphones out there, you can also adjust how much noise you want to let in, which is good. But also, the really cool thing about the ambient mode on these headphones is that they also have easy chat. Now what easy chat is, it allows you to quickly talk to someone without having to remove the headphones. And this type of feature is super useful if you’re traveling… and this type of feature is rare for a pair of entry level headphones like these.

And with easy chat, there are actually to ways that you can use it. First off, you can manually active it by covering the left ear cup like this.

And then when you let go, they’ll go back to normal again. And personally I really like this method because its a lot more intentional. And like I said, this type of feature is very useful when you’re traveling cause you can have quick conversations with people without having to fully remove the headphones… but you can also enable easy chat with just your voice, like this.

Now being able to active easy chat with just your voice is very cool and all… but personally I dont use it, because the second that you start talking, easy chat will get activated. So personally I do prefer to manually activate easy chat by covering the left ear cup… but I still think that its very cool that soundcore gives you both options.

But now lets talk about sound. Now the Space One’s have 40 millimeter drivers and they sound balanced with Soundcore’s Signature EQ… but through soundcore’s app, you always go in and choose from a few different pre made EQs or you can also go ahead and make your own. Now in general these have good instrument separation, and their bass has really good resonances to it. However, the bass on these headphones isn’t going to physically rattle your head all that much. Now you can go and choose the bass boost EQ or you can make your own… and you’re going to get a lot more resonance out of their bass… but you’re still not going to get all that much physicality. Nonetheless, the Space one’s still sound good, however, if you want to get the best sound quality of these headphones, you want to use them with their active noise cancellation turned off… cause with their active noise cancellation being turned on, they dont sound as open. But also there’s the Hear ID Sound feature on these headphones. Basically after you complete a hearing test, soundcore will suggest an optimal EQ tailored to you. But personally, I think these headphones sound best with their stock soundcore EQ.

But finally, if you want to get the best sound quality of these headphones you can always use them with LDAC. Now what LDAC is… its Sony’s own high res audio codec which is going to transmit more date between your phone and your headphones, thus giving you better detail. However if you want to use LDAC you do have to be an android user cause iPhone’s top at AAC, and if you do use LDAC, that is going to drain your battery life faster.

But if you want to, you can always just use a wired connection with these headphones cause they still have a 3.5 millimeter audio jack and they also come included with an audio cable. Now I now this sounds very basic, but I do have to point this out cause some manufactures are starting to remove the audio jack on some of their headphones.

But overall the bluetooth connectivity of these headphones is solid and latency is not an issue, so you can use them to watch movies or videos on your phone… and these headphones are a good option for power users out there cause they can be simultaneously connected to any two bluetooth devices so you can easily hot swap from one device to another.

And when it comes to the media controls on these headphones, the Space One’s are using physical buttons and these buttons are on the right ear cup, they’re easy to find, and they have really good tactile feedback. But the really interesting thing here is that the Space One’s have wear sensors, so they will automatically pause your music when you take them off and they’ll start playing your music again when you put them back on. Now my main critique here is that these wear sensors are a little slo to react… but still, its very impressive that these entry level headphones have wear sensors.

But next up lets talk about two of my favorite things about these headphones and that’s going to be their fit and battery life. Now the Space One have an advertised battery life of 40 hours with their active noise cancelation turned on… which is very impressive and its above average… and if you were to use these headphones with their ANC turned off, they can go for as long as 55 hours.

But then there’s their fit. First off the Space One have very little clamping force making them big head approved… and even if you like wearing hats, these should fit you just fine cause the Space One have a loser fit… making them very comfortable. But also, the padding on these headphones is spot on as well. The headband it self is very well padded so hot spots are not an issue for these headphones… but then there are the ear pads… these ear pads are very spacious and they are going to have not problem accommodating most ear types… and even if you have very larger ears or ears that stick out a lot… these will fit you just fine. So combined with the overall great comfort of these headphones… their very impressive activate noise cancellation and their very imrepssive battery life, the Space One are a great pair of budget friendly headphones to consider if you’re looking for a pair of headphones to travel with. But personally I do recommend that you invest in a hard shell if you plan on traveling a lot with these headphones cause they only com included with a carrying pouch… which honestly, for a pair of entry level headphones like these, that’s fine.

But finally here’s the microphone test, now overall, I feel that the soundcore space one have a decent sounding microphone to take phone calls with while in a quite room.

However, when it comes to blocking out noise pollution, this microphone can struggle a bit, cause right now there is some road noise playing in the background and you can here some interference with my voice.

But when it comes to blocking out chatter, this microphone is doing a slightly better job. But overall, I would recommend that you try to mainly take phone calls with the Soundcore Space one while in a quiet environment.

But with all of that being said, the Soundcore Space One are a pair of very impressive Entry level ANC Headphones… these headphones block out a lot of noise and the ANC on these headphones is up there with some mid teir or even some premium ANC Headphones. The Space one also have an very long battery life to them and they’re also very comfortable to wear, making them a great option to consider if you’re looking for a pair of headphones to travel with. And the Space One are packed with features like LDAC for better sound quality if you have an android device, an ambient mode that also has easy chat which is great for traveling, and they also have wear sensors. Overall, the Soundcore Space One are a solid pickup, especially at $100. But again I do want to thank Soundcore for sponsoring this video.
