Sony WH-1000XM3 4.1.1 Firmware Update - Is It Causing Issues?

Sony WH-1000XM3 4.1.1 Firmware Update - Is It Causing Issues?

Unfortunately, at CES 2019 Sony didn’t announce any new headphones to compliment their 1000XM3’s. I was personally expecting them to announce a new pair of H.ear On 3’s and an updated version of their XB950N1’s. They did however announce that their headphones would be getting Alexa integration. And like I’ve been saying for awhile now, more and more headphones are going to have voice assistant integration here on out. Just look at how prominent cortana is on the Surface Headphones.

But over the last few days I’ve been getting a lot of comments about how the new 4.1.1 firmware update has negatively effected the Active Noise Cancelation on the Sony 1000XM3. So to get to the bottom of this I updated my 1000XM3’s to 4.1.1 and did ANC test with another pair 1000XM3’s running the previous 2.0.0 firmware. And heres what I got.

Bose Home Speaker 500 Review

Bose Home Speaker 500 Review

While everyone waits for Bose to announce their new QC45 ANC headphones, bose has been pretty busy lately releasing some out of the box products. Theres the noise masking sleep buds, Bose’s new frames which are sunglasses with built in speakers that are supposed to deliver a first of its kind AR experience and this… The Bose Home speaker 500. And im going to be honest, I didn’t expect to like this Smart speaker as much as I did and it sounds very impressive for its small size.

My Top 3 Favorite $200 ANC Headphones As Of Q1 2019

My Top 3 Favorite $200 ANC Headphones As Of Q1 2019

I know dropping $350 on a pair of ANC headphones is a lot for some people. So today we’re going to compare my current top 3 favorite sub $200 ANC headphones as of Q1 2019. We have the Sony WH-CH700N, the Sennheiser 4.50 BTNC, and the Audio-Technica ATH-SR50BT or as I call them, the Sir 50’s. Now I like and have no problem recommending either of these headphones but they all have their own pros and cons. But I think this video is going to be pretty interesting cause instead of me crapping on one specific pair of headphones, we’re going to be comparing 3 pairs of headphones that I genuinely like for different reasons.

Product Line Up Explained - Jaybird Early 2019

Almost Jaybird’s entire product line is brand new for 2019. And besides the truly wireless Jaybird Run, the rest of Jaybird’s products might seem like they’re all the same… But thats not true, there are some key difference between the Jaybird Tarah, Jaybird X4, and Jaybird Tarah Pro that you’ll want to take into consideration before buying your first pair of Jaybird ear buds. So today we’re going to break down Jaybird’s product line and hopefully find out which ones right for you.

Audio-Technica ATH-SR50BT Review - Awesome $200 Headphones, But Not Perfect

Audio-Technica ATH-SR50BT Review - Awesome $200 Headphones, But Not Perfect

As the premium ANC headphone market heats up, cheaper ANC headphones are getting better and better cause of the trickle down effect. And a good example of this are the new Audio-Technica ATH-SR50BT’s. I think these are a pair of very well rounded headphones that perform great and have some very welcomed features. And if it wasn’t for their touch pad, I think these headphones would be perfect.

Jaybird Tarah Pro Review - Jaybird Out Did Themselves With These

Jaybird Tarah Pro Review - Jaybird Out Did Themselves With These

Jaybird has been pretty busy lately. First they released their slightly updated Jaybird X4, which has a cult like following and then shortly after they released their new entry level Jaybird Tarah. And then shortly after those they released their new Jaybird Tarah Pro… And given that I still prefer wired bluetooth earbuds over truly wireless earbuds for working out… I didn’t expect to like the Tarah pro as much as I do.

Marshall Stanmore 2 Review

Marshall Stanmore 2 Review

Im a really big fan of JBL’s portable speaker line up… they sound great and you can take them anywhere cause they’re pretty durable and they have long lasting batteries. But a portable speaker means you’re paying extra for that added durability and built in battery. And if you just want a speaker for at home use all you’re really concerned about is sound. So thats where something like the Marshall Stanmore 2 comes in. its a little bigger than the Xtreme 2 but gives the boombox a run its money when it comes to sound quality and bass.

V-MODA BASSFIT Wireless Review - They're Replacing My Powerbeats 3

V-MODA BASSFIT Wireless Review - They're Replacing My Powerbeats 3

I feel V-moda is currently best known for their V-moda crossfade II wireless headphones. And for the longest time V-Moda has tried to establish themselves as that cool Audiophile brand. So thats why I was a little surprised when V-Moda announced their new Bassfit Wireless. Their first wireless headphones for the gym. And I gotta say, for their first time they did a very good job… and besides some minor nitpicks I think they’re pretty good.
