So the both the JBL Flip 6 And JBL Charge 5 are two great sounding speakers from JBL that both got a significant speaker set up upgrade. Specifically, both the Flip 6 and Charge 5 are now packing dedicated tweeters which helps them with their instrument separation. However, there is a middle child here that we need to address, and that is the JBL Pulse 4. Now the Pulse 4 looks amazing… but definitely don’t pick this speaker up is sound quality is your main concern.
So the JBL Flip 6 truly is a great little bluetooth speaker. Thanks to its new speaker set up which consists of a pair of dual passive radiators, a woofer, and a tweeter… the flip 6 really does sound great in a very compact package. But today, we’re going to see if its worth upgrading from the Flip 6 to the larger JBL Charge 5… and we’re also going to see how the Flip 6 stacks up to the Sony XB33.
Now even though the JBL Flip 6 isn’t a HUGE upgrade from the JBL Flip 5… the additional tweeter on the Flip 6 does help it sound more open. And in general… tweeters on a portable 20 watt bluetooth speaker are pretty rare. But today we’re going to compare the Flip 6 to two very popular 20 watt speakers. First there’s the Bose Soundlink flex which is just universally loved right now… and then there’s the Sony XB23… which is a really good budget option. But nonetheless… lets see which ones right for you.
This is the JBL Flip 6, now at first glance you’d be safe to assume that this is just a redesign with a new huge JBL logo on the front to spice things up. But in reality, there’s a lot going on under this logo. Specifically, JBL added a new tweeter to the Flip 6… just like the Charge 5. And right now, the Charge 5 is my favorite sounding mid sized speaker. So today we’re going to checkout the JBL Flip 6… and we’re going to see if its worth upgrading if you have the Flip 4 or even the flip 5.
So the new Bose Soundlink Flex is a great portable bluetooth speaker from Bose that quite frankly just sounds way better than its direct competitors the JBL Flip 5 and Sony XB23. However… the Bose Flex does have a price premium to it and at first glance you’ll might think that its direct competitors are really the JBL Charge 5 and Sony XB33. But they’re really not. So over the last few months or so… bose has really been killing it when it came to their Soundbars and smart speakers meant for the home. But I feel that they have been neglecting their smaller, more portable speakers. But now we’ve got the Bose Soundlink Flex… now even though this thing does have a price premium to it… the Bose Soundlink Flex easily sounds way better than its direct competitors the JBL Flip 5 and Sony XB23.
So even though there are a whole lot of other earbuds out there in the market… some that are really good at doing one specific thing… AirPods are still a no brainer for any iPhone user. Now we’ve got the brand new AirPods 3’s… and just as you’d expect these are a marginal upgrade over the AirPods Gen 2 and they're still a no briner for any iPhone user. But to make things we’re going to see how the AirPods Gen 3 compare to the AirPods Gen 2 which are apple’s current entry level ear buds. We’re also going to compare them to the AirPods Pro to see if therye worth the upgrade. And we’re also going to throw in the Beats Studio Buds which I feel some of you will be tempted to go with over these.
So even though the Sony XB910N’s are technically meant for bass heads because they have an above average amount of bass… they're also a solid pair of mid tier ANC headphones that you really can’t go wrong with. So today we’re going to see how the XB910N’s stack up to the Surface Headphones 2. Now I know this might sound like an odd match… but I have always felt that the surface headphones are a great pair of mid teir ANC headphones that most people just slept on.
