On paper the LG PK7 sounds like the complete package, its a large portable speaker with dual passive radiators, dual transducers, and dual tweeters with “meridian audio technology”. It even has a built in light feature and it somehow won a reddot design award. The LG PK7 is basically a mash up between the JBL Xtreme 2 and the Sony XB41… But this speaker performs as good as it looks.
Over the past year, the Sony WH-1000XM2 have been my go to ANC headphones. These headphones set the bar when it came to active noise cancelation; they blocked out the most amount of noise with little to no cabin pressure. The M2’s have the best technology built in them… but they do fall short when it comes to comfort and build quality. But now… we have the Sony WH-1000XM3… I’m going to be honest, I didn’t expect these headphones so soon… but man I’m glad they’re here. Here’s what I like about the Sony 1000XM3’s, here’s what I HATE about the Sony 1000XM3’s, and do you really need to upgrade from the Sony 1000XM2’s.
In general, Im a really big fan of JBL’s portable speaker line up…but when it comes to their headphones, thats a different story. You could have the best sounding headphones, with the best active noise cancelation, and the best battery life ever, but if they don’t fit well… none of that matters. And thats pretty much the biggest issue I have with the JBL E65BTNC’s.
Last year during their iPhone X keynote, apple gave us a sneak peak at their Airpower charging mat: a wireless charging mat that can charge multiple devices at the same time. And everyone assumed that the Airpower mat would go on sale in early 2018 and a lot of people including myself thought that we would see apple’s wireless charging mat at WWDC 2018. But we didn’t. But now everyone is speculating that we’re going to see the Airpower at apple’s next iPhone event in September. But with a rumored price tag between $150 and $200 I think some people will find Logitech’s new wireless charger a little more attractive. It does have its draw backs, but its decent.
So I don't know how I missed this leak... But it looks as if the Sony WH-1000XM3 visited the FCC last month. Thanks to some leaked images and a now taken down PDF we kind of have an idea on what to expect for the Sony WH-1000XM3. Chances as the Sony WH-1000XM3 are going to be announced at IFA on August 31st and its shaping to be an incremental update to the Sony 1000XM2. But over all, were going to have to wait to actually get the Sony 1000XM3 in house for a full review.
