Typically if you’re in the market for a pair of premium ANC headphones people usually end up asking if they should go with Bose or Sony. Now you really can’t go wrong with either the Bose NC 700 or the new Sony 1000XM4’s… but there are some very important differences between them to take into consideration. So today we’re going to be comparing the Bose NC 700’s to the Sony 1000XM4’s but im also going to be throwing in the Bose QC35’s for the people who might be thinking about upgrading.
At first glance, the new sony 1000XM4’s look identical to the Sony 1000XM3’s. And you wouldn’t be wrong to think that the 1000XM4’s are just a minor refresh of the 1000XM3’s… but there’s actually a lot more going on here both externally and internally and sony has done a great job of refining their already great premium ANC headphones. So today we’re going to check out the Sony 1000XM4’s but we’re going to compare them to the 1000XM3’s and see if its worth upgrading and we’re also going to be comparing them to the Sony 1000XM2’s so you can see how far these headphones have come.
Im going to start off this video by saying that the Harman Kardon Fly ANC have great build quality and they sound great as well… but unfortunately these headphones have a lot of squandered potential and ultimately these are just a re-skinned version of the JBL Live650BTNC’s which came out a few months ago. But now im just starting to wonder what on earth is Harman thinking cause these headphones and the JBL Club 950NC’s which I reviewed a few weeks ago are going to have a real hard time competing in today’s super competitive headphones market. And for those who may not know… JBL is a sub brand of Harman and Harman is owned by Samsung.
I love the Steelseries Arctis 1 gaming headset. If you’re a casual player like me just looking for a gaming headset then I don’t think that you can go wrong with the Arctis 1. But today we’re actually going to be focusing on the newest Arctis 1… the Arctis 1 Wireless for Xbox. And if you’re an Xbox gamer like me… then this headset is a pretty big deal
Even though the Shure Aonic 50’s have a solid foundation to them. For me these headphones are a hard pass cause performance wise these headphones have a lot of room for improvement. And if you’re looking for a pair of headphones to commute with… then its really hard to justify getting these headphones when compared to either the Sony 1000XM3’s or Bose NC 700’s. But today we’re going to compare these headphones to more audiophile centric options like the Sennheiser Momentum 3’s and the Bowers and Wilkins PX7.
The Shure Aonic 50 are Shure’s first pair of ANC over ear headphones. Now even though these headphones have a solid foundation to them… like I said in their full review these headphones are a hard pass for me cause performance wise these headphones have a lot of room for improvement. And when you’re charging $400 for your headphones… you really gotta bring your A game cause the premium ANC headphone market is very competitive. Especially when you’ve got to compete with well established and very popular players like the Sony 1000XM3’s and Bose NC 700’s.
The new Shure Aonic 50’s are Shure’s first pair of ANC headphones… And even though the Shure Aonic 50’s definitely try to tick off all the right boxes from what you would expect from a pair of Premium ANC headphones in 2020… these headphones have a lot of room for improvement. And for me I gotta say these headphones are a hard pass.
So like I've said many times already, the Razer Opus are a pair of very well built $200 headphones that definitely try to punch about their weight class. And I feel its actually easier to compare these headphones to mid their ANC headphones like the Sony XB900N and surface Headphones 2… rather than comparing them to other $200 headphones. So lets see how the Razer Opus stack up to these two mid tier ANC headphones.
