Even though the Sennheiser PXC 550-II’s have a lot of short comings for headphones in 2019… I strangely still really enjoy them. But when it comes to choosing between the Sennheiser PXC 550-II’s and Sennheiser Momentum 3’s… its almost like 2 completely different companies made these headphones. Cause almost everything about them, even down to the included accessories are completely different on these headphones.
Like I said in the full review… the Sennheiser PXC 550-II’s are a very peculiar pair of ANC headphones that just don’t live up to their full potential. But strangely enough I still really enjoy them. They’re definitely not perfect for everyone. But they’re a good alternative to the Sony 1000XM3 and Bose NC 700’s depending on your needs and circumstances. So here’s how the Sennheiser PXC 550-II stack up against the Sony 1000XM3 and Bose NC 700.
The Sennheiser PXC 550-II are a very peculiar pair of ANC headphones. I don’t think that they live up to the fullest of their potential and I don’t recommend that you run out and get these headphones… but I also wouldn’t just right them off. Depending on your needs and on a very specific set of circumstances these headphones might actually be prefect for you, and for some other people these headphones will might be a disappointment. So lets see if these headphones are right for you.
Although the Beats Solo Pro have some significant upgrades over the Beats Solo 3… To me, the Beats Solo Pro are Overhyped and definitely Overpriced at $300. Although their active noise cancellation is fairly decent, and I really like that they finally have a transparency mode… something thats has been standard for awhile now. I find it very hard to justify getting these headphones when there are a whole lot of other great ANC headphones out there that either perform better or just cost less.
Like I said in the full review… I feel that the Beats Solo Pro are overhyped and definitely overpriced at the $300. But if you’re looking for a pair of headphones and you want to get the best bang for your buck here are two options that perform better and cost less than the Beats Solo Pro. We’ve got the Sony XB900N and the Surface Headphones. I feel that both of these are better than the beats solo pro, but depending on your needs one is better than the other.
The Sony 1000XM3 are still my favorite and most recommended pair of ANC headphones. But… I have new favorite which are the Bowers And Wilkins PX7, specifically because of their sound quality. Now they’re definitely not for everybody, but if you’re considering picking these headphones up, here’s how they stack up against everybody’s favorite Sony 1000XM3’s.

The new Bowers and Wilkins PX7’s are a refined version of the Bowers and Wilkins PX… B and W’s first pair of ANC headphones. And just like before, I think these headphones sound great and over all I really like their build quality. But when it comes to everything else like active noise cancelation and fit… these headphones still need some work. Now im not saying that you shouldn’t get these headphones period. I just don’t think these headphones are for everyone. But they will make a very specific type of person very happy.
