So for the past few months sony has been upgrading their box speaker lineup with their new XV family of speakers. And I personally really like the Sony XV900 and the XV800 is great as well. But now we have the newest addition to the XV family, the Sony XV500 and it does have some upgrades over the XP500 .

So this is the Sony XV800, now personally I like this speaker cause I like its new more mellow sound signature, and it also has an optical port so you can hook it up to your tv which helps make this speaker a little more versatile. And it also has a decent real world battery life. But it is a little pricy and big. But today we’re going to compare it to smaller and super popular box speakers like the JBL Partybox 110 and the Sony XP500.

So this is the LG XBOOM XL7, now even though it does have its drawbacks, personally I really like its mellow sound profile and I think the customizable light feature up top is a fun touch. Personally, I really enjoy the new Sony XV900. Its a large portable box speaker that’s a good option for your man cave… and if you want you can always take it out doors and use it around the house, without having to rely on having a wall outlet nearby. So the JBL Boombox 3 is a very capable and very portable bluetooth speaker. Thanks to it new speaker set up, the Boombox 3 sounds good, its super durable, and thanks to it built in battery, it can hang for awhile. However, the Boombox 3 is a very premium speaker. But then there’s the Partybox 110 and Sony XP500 which are usually a little more affordable and they pack a lot more sound. So the Soundboks Go is Soundbok’s more portable but still ultra rugged and super loud bluetooth speaker that does a good job of keeping up with its larger brother… the Soundboks 3. Now like I said in the full review, I think the Soundboks Go is a very niche speaker and I also feel that it is going to get cross referenced with a lot of other speakers out there. But today we’re going to compare the Soundboks Go to both the JBL Partybox 110 and Sony XP500. Form factor wise, these are the most direct competitors to the Soundboks Go.
