Hello everybody and welcome to this unboxing and first impressions video on the highly anticipated Sennheiser Momentum true wireless 2. Now just keep in mind that this is simply an unboxing and first impressions video and you can expect a full review on these guys later on in the future. But for today we’re really just going to run down tech specs of these new earbuds and see what improvements they have over the original Momentums.
Now first off the most important upgrade these ear buds have over the originals is that they now have active noise cancellation which you can activate by triple tapping on the right touch pad. Now just keep in mind these earbuds aren’t going to block out the world like a proper pair of ANC headphones like lets say the Sennheiser PXC 550-II’s… but it is useful in like lets say a chatty office. Now im still assessing the effectiveness of the active noise cancellation of these ear buds… but what I will say is that they have very little to no cabin pressure which is always good.
Now another major upgrade these earbuds have over the original earbuds is that they’ve gotten a major battery life boost. The original momentums had a combined battery life of just 12 hours… which was average for the time when they came out but it definitely didn’t compare to the AirPods 24 hours battery life… But now these new momentums have a combined battery life 28 hours… the ear buds themselves can go for 7 straight hours and the case can supply and additional 21 hours of battery life. Which I think is awesome and it finally justifies the size of their case.
Now cosmetically these earbuds looks very similar to the original momentum’s but there are still some differences that we can point out. Now although this carrying case is the same size as the original its now charcoal instead of gray. I know… riveting stuff. Now the earbuds themselves also look very similar to the originals but they’re actually 2mm smaller than before and they have all new whole punch outs presumably for the active noise cancellation. But new for the Momentum 2’s is that they’re also going to be coming in a white color way later on in the future.
Now when it comes to pricing and availability the Momentum True Wireless 2 will be retailing for $299.95 just like the original Momentum’s when they first came out and they’ll be available sometime in April. Now if you’ve been a subscriber of mine for a while now you’ve probably heard me say that I think paying over 200 for any pair of truely wireless earbuds is a lot… But the original Momentum’s have always been my guilty pleasure cause they just sound so freaking good. So thats why I’m really excited to be checking out the Momentum 2’s.
But I think we’re going to wrap up this unboxing and first impressions video here. Now like I just said these earbuds are going to be retailing for $299.95 and they’ll be available in April. Now the major new features on these earbuds is that they now have active noise cancellation and a 28 hour battery life… which I think is something that they drastically needed just to be frank. But yeah… you guys can expect a full on review on these guys sometime later on in the future.
